The Physical Therapy Service provides comprehensive care to inpatients and outpatients for sports medicine and orthopaedic problems. Patients are primarily adults except for pediatric orthopaedic patients. Inpatient and outpatient
Physical Therapy is provided for patients with total joint replacements, amputations, surgical reconstructions/repairs, and musculoskeletal injuries. Only inpatient Physical Therapy is provided for medical, oncology, neurology, cardiac, and non-orthopaedic surgical patients. The Physical Therapy Section is comprised of four active duty physical therapists, three civilian physical therapists, and four physical therapy technicians/aides. All patients are seen by consult only. Patients need to come dressed appropriately in their PT uniform fifteen minutes prior to their scheduled appointment times.
Once pre-operative patients receive a consult, they may walk in to the clinic from 9 - 11 a.m. Monday through Friday for pre-operative care (crutch training as appropriate, exercise review, etc).
